Master Basic Skills

We can help students master basic writing skills quickly and
efficiently. The key is to start exactly where the student needs
instruction and not re-teach what he or she already knows.

Hone Higher Order Thinking Skills
|

Writing is an outstanding way for students to learn critical analysis and
complex synthesis skills. We can work with their homework writing assigned
by their teachers (history, social studies, language arts, sign language,
leadership, or other core or elective courses), and we can also work
independently – using SAT or CAHSEE-style writing prompts.

Increase Test Taking Skills
|

Three-fourths of our lessons have multiple choice test-taking components (1/4
require students to complete additional paragraph and/or sentence writing to
demonstrate mastery of skills). Each lesson has TWO multiple choice
tests: The first test is called, "Practice Now" and enables students
to practice the concepts they've learned in a "safe" environment.
The second test is called, "Quiz me now." These scores are recorded
permanently on the student's Progress Report generated afresh each time a
student takes another quiz.

Monitor Student Progress

Students taking school district -paid after school tutoring programs with Write
Well, Write Now have their own, private, Personal Start Page (no other students
can view their work or their scores), however because the district is paying
for the program, we give districts access to everything our mentor teacher can
see: Student before and after samples, mentor teacher critiques,
student scores on both Practice Now and Quiz Me Now tests, and the amount of
time the student spent taking those quizzes.
